As you may be aware, JCU is embarking on an exciting building project. The new Athletic, Wellness & Event Center (AWE) will be built on the site of an existing parking lot. Consequently, for the duration of the construction project, we will need to park first-year and second-year resident students off campus at nearby parking areas. There is limited capacity at these lots, so it is very possible not all requests will be accommodated.

We appreciate your patience as we navigate these parking challenges. Please know that the safety and well-being of our students are very important to us. Please reach out to the parking office with any specific questions or concerns.

Parking Details

JCU parking permits will be reserved through a new portal for the 2024-25 school year!

You can now purchase a parking permit through your myJCU Gateway portal. Effective on the morning of the sales window, the parking link will appear under the Quick Links section.

You will need to enter your vehicle information, so please make sure you know your vehicle's make and model and have your license plate number ready. You will then be prompted to request your permit.

Parking permits for the 2024-25 school year will be sold based on Current Class Standing as well as Resident or Commuter Status.

The sales windows will open as follows:

  • Thursday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. - Fairmount Circle Apartments - Junior/Senior Resident Students - LIMITED QUANTITY
  • Friday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. - Main Campus - Junior/Senior Resident Students - LIMITED QUANTITY
  • Monday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. - Offsite Lot - Freshman/Sophomore Resident Students - LIMITED QUANTITY
  • Tuesday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. - Various locations on campus - Commuter Students, Grad Students and Graduate Assistants

You will not have access to purchase a permit prior to the day the sales window opens. Once the lot has sold out, the parking link will announce that the SALES WINDOW IS NOW CLOSED.

Please set a reminder for the date and time listed above that fits your status.

Once the window sells out, we are unable to honor any additional requests.

Please Note: The offsite location and security are still being decided upon. Be on the lookout for more information.

The John Carroll University Police Department (JCUPD) is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety of all persons living, working, or visiting the University. This requires considerable attention to regulating the flow of traffic and the appropriate use of parking. We have developed rules to help govern traffic and parking on University property. Adherence to these rules will facilitate the safe and efficient use of parking areas and roadways around campus.

Please read our regulations carefully. If you have questions, please email parking@jcu.edu or call the JCU Parking Office at 216-397-2277, Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. or call the JCU Police Department at 216-397-1234 after hours.

All visitors should enter campus through the main entrance at Fairmount Circle and pick up a visitor's permit at the Main Gate House (Monday-Friday).
