Neuroscience Concentration

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry collaborates with the biology and psychology departments in the interdisciplinary concentration in neuroscience. The coordinating department is psychology and the concentration is intended for biology, chemistry, and psychology majors who desire an interdisciplinary approach to the study of physiology, biochemistry, and behavior of higher organisms.

Coursework

Chemistry majors who participate in the neuroscience concentration should complete the biochemistry concentration.

We strongly recommend that interested students investigate the neuroscience concentration as early as possible in their academic careers. A GPA of 2.5 or higher in BL 1500-1505 and BL 1600-1605 and CH 1410-1430 and CH 1420-1440 is required for admission into the concentration.
