Incoming transfer students are encouraged to register for Transfer Transition Day at JCU, where they will meet with an advisor to put together a course schedule for the upcoming semester:

Fall 2024 Transfer Transition Day Date

  • August 16 (register by August 9)

Transfer students will be approved to meet with an advisor for course registration prior to Transfer Transition Day if: 1) a final official transcript from the student's most recent institution attended has been received and evaluated; and 2) foreign language placement testing (if required) has been completed. If these requirements are completed and you are able to meet with an advisor in advance to schedule your classes for the upcoming semester, you will not be required to attend the in-person Transfer Transition Day. Refer to your myJCU Gateway portal for more information.

Registration:

Access to your next steps for enrollment, including the link to register for Transfer Transition Day, will be available within your myJCU Gateway upon submitting your enrollment deposit.

Once your registration has been received, we will send a confirmation email to the email address linked to your myJCU Gateway.

If you have any questions regarding Transfer Registration Day, Transfer Transition, or fees, please contact AnnMarie Virost in the Office of Admission at 216-397-1716. Additionally, if you have any questions or issues accessing your myJCU Gateway, please contact the Office of Admission.

Fee:

Each student will be charged a $100 fee for participating in Transfer Transition Day, which covers advising and registration fees, the Transfer Welcome Reception, and other program costs. This fee will be added to your John Carroll student account.

Schedule:

Check-in for Transfer Transition Day is from 10:30 - 11:00am. The program concludes when you have finished registering for classes. Each faculty advisor's registration and appointment times will vary, so you should plan to be engaged with the Orientation program until 4:00pm. The schedule for the day can be found here.

Parking:

Free parking is available on the John Carroll campus for students and guests for Transfer Transition Day. Guests are asked to enter the campus through our front gates, which can be found off of Fairmount Circle near Warrensville Center Rd.

Once you enter through the campus gates, you will turn right and park in the second large parking lot, which is adjacent to a large green space known as Hamlin Quad. Check in for Transfer Transition Day will be held in the O'Malley Center, which is attached to St. Ignatius Hall (the building with our iconic bell tower).

Submitting your Carroll Card ID picture:

All incoming students are required to submit a headshot online for their Carroll Card. In the picture, students must be facing forward, cannot be wearing a cap or hat, and need to use a neutral background. Your picture can be submitted here

Students who have successfully submitted their picture online will be able to pick up their Carroll Card starting the afternoon of Transfer Transition Day in the Carroll Card Office, room 06 on the ground level of St. Ignatius Hall.

Individual Financial Aid Appointments:

We encourage all of our students and their families to schedule an individual appointment with one of our Student Enrollment and Financial Services (SEFS) staff members to review their financial aid and have any billing questions answered. You can reach them at enrollment@jcu.edu or 216-397-4248.
