Retreat Fund Request Information

Background:
Prior to the sale of Thorn Acres and Carroll Lodge, student groups, faculty and staff groups were able to use these facilities for one day or overnight retreats and days of reflection. With the sale of the two properties, a fund has been established to offset the cost of having these retreats/days of reflection at other locations.

The guidelines are as follows:

  1. The group must first check availability at the Jesuit Retreat House (JRH) – 5629 State Road, Parma, Ohio 44134 (www.jrh-cleveland.org). Call Barbara Leggott (Phone: 440-884-9300 ext 310) at JRH to ask if JRH is available for the date(s) and time(s) and number of people who will be attending. If you are able to stay at the Jesuit Retreat House, this fund will include the cost of meals.
  2. If JRH is not available, then the fund will cover the cost of another facility at an alternate location (such as Shaker Lakes or Punderson State Park). The fund will not cover the cost of food for the alternate facility.

Please have the following information ready: facility, approximate cost to rent for length of stay, faculty/staff member accompanying your retreat.

Fill out the following form. These requests will be reviewed by the Director of Campus Ministry.

Notes:
For all student groups, at least one faculty/staff person must attend. If it is an overnight retreat, at least one faculty/staff must stay the night. All regular JCU policies are in effect for these retreats.

Recap: If JRH is available then the retreat fund will cover the cost (including meals). If JRH is not available and an alternate facility is used, the retreat fund will only cover the cost for the rental of the accommodations.

(Please note that for any retreat at JRH a JRH staff member will address the group at the beginning of the retreat.)
