The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee is a sub-committee of the University Committee on the Student Learning Experience (formerly Provost’s Council).

The DEI committee’s charge includes:

  • Setting institutional goals for inclusive excellence;
  • Measuring progress on inclusive excellence goals outlined in the University Strategic Plan; and
  • Offering guidance to offices and individuals on meeting these goals.

 

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee oversaw the development of the University's first Strategic Plan for Inclusive Excellence (SPIE) in 2017-2018. This two-year plan was implemented in 2018 in response to an Inclusive Excellence objective in the 2015-2020 University Strategic Plan.
