The John Carroll University Psychology Department is deeply committed to providing research opportunities for all interested students. See below for your opportunities.

  • Check out faculty research interests on their profile pages. We are always looking for help from interested students.
  • We have plenty of opportunities to get course credit for your research experience.
    • In PS299, students work as a research assistant for one semester for 1-3 credits. Contact a Psychology faculty member whose research interests you for more information.
    • In PS301, you conduct your own research study in a small group. This is a required course for completion of the Psychology Major.
    • In PS401, you can conduct your own independent research project in a class led by Dr. Yost.
    • Finally, PS497N and PS499 enable you to work one on one with a faculty member who supervised your research.
  • Finally, we strongly recommend you present at one or more of the following conferences:
    • MPA: 6-12 students routinely present their research at the Midwestern Psychological Association Annual Meeting in Chicago in April. There is a student research competition. Contact Dr. Yost or Dr. Tarescavage for more details.
