All JCU students are invited to complete the Leadership Formation Series, structured yet informal opportunities for students to discover and reflect upon their capacities to be effective leaders and followers in various situations. Through the increase of self-awareness, the recognition of group dynamics, the understanding of personal strengths, and the grappling with ethical challenges faced by leaders both on and off campus, students who complete the Leadership Formation Series are equipped with the knowledge necessary to be have an impact in both formal and informal settings.

The Tier 1 program focuses on participating students increasing their levels of self-awareness, better preparing them for leadership experiences. This program is mainly geared towards first- and second-year students and is offered each fall and spring semester.

Living and Leading
This informal program will help you develop relationships with other students, increase your self-awareness, and enhance your communication skills. Join us in this program that takes place in a family-style setting.

Students who completed the Living and Leading program are eligible to participate in the Tier 2 program, which focuses on the experiences of participating students as members of various groups and how they can influence change as a group member. This program is geared mainly towards first- and second-year students and is offered each spring semester.

Advancing Leadership
Advancing Leadership will build off of the things discussed in the Tier 1 program and move you farther along the leadership path by expanding the focus beyond yourself and into your role as a member of the various groups in your life. Join us in this program that takes place in a family-style setting.

Students who completed both the Tier 1 and 2 programs are eligible to participate in the Tier 3 program, which focuses on the experiences of participating students as group leaders. This program is offered each fall semester.

Sharing Your Strengths
Sharing Your Strengths will build off the knowledge gained in Tier 1 & 2 programs and provide students the opportunity to consider how they can best apply their natural strengths and talents to common leadership challenges.

Students who completed the Tier 1, 2, and 3 programs are eligible to participate in the Tier 4 program, which focuses on ethical decision making by leaders. This program is offered each spring semester.

Leadership in Action
Leadership in Action provokes student leaders to think deeply about ethical issues that leaders face, both on the college campus and beyond.

Leadership On and Off the Field
Leaders from John Carroll’s varsity athletic teams gather to reflect and learn skills to be successful in leading others both in and out of the athletic context.

Hungry for Leadership?
This exciting program focuses on the leadership concepts found the in the books of The Hunger Games trilogy.

LAUNCH (Leadership Always Undertake New Challenges)
LAUNCH provides core leadership training for students in prominent leadership positions on campus.

Drawn to Leadership
This fun program focuses on the leadership concepts found in superhero-based comic books and movies.

Leadership in the Apocolypse!
This exciting program focuses on the leadership concepts found the in the Walking Dead TV series.
