Megan Boyk '15 recently graduated from medical school and is working as a resident physician in South Bend, Indiana. While completing her residency training in family practice, she is pursuing a curricular track in care for underserved populations and continues to participate in global health work through JCU's Honduras medical immersion program. As a student at John Carroll, Megan was also involved in the Honors Scholars Program, John Carroll EMS, choir, and worked as a campus tour guide.
Shawn Breslin '18 is currently pursuing a Master's degree in International Political Economy at Fordham University in New York City while working part time with Clearsulting as a Consulting Analyst in the Automation and Analytics practice. While at John Carroll, Shawn was a member of the Men's Varsity Soccer program as well as active in Campus Ministry, participating and leading immersions in El Salvador and the Appalachian region of West Virginia. He was a double major in Economics and Finance.
Kasey Foley ’14 ’16 is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences at Penn State University. Her research examines interpersonal communication in health contexts, with a focus on providers’ communication to educate, motivate, and support patients in primary care visits. Kasey works to assist health providers in their efforts to effectively counsel patients by collaborating on interdisciplinary teams of health providers, infectious disease researchers, medical students, and social scientists. Kasey has contributed to the design, management, and research products of large-scale grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Merck & Company, Inc. aimed at addressing strategies for improving antibiotic stewardship and thereby reducing rates of antibiotic-resistant infections nationally.
Jenny Grant ’17 is completing her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Bowling Green State University, Ohio, where she is researching topics surrounding addiction, religion and spirituality, and trauma, as well as training to be a licensed psychologist. She also started and runs a prayer/spirituality group at BGSU and is a clinical student representative. While at JCU, she was a member of Psi Chi, Alpha Sigma Nu, the Psychology Club, Alpha Omega, and studied Psychology, with a minor in Theology.
Jacob Haas '19 is working as a Software Developer at Medical Mutual within the Enterprise Data Warehouse and Core Modernization teams. In the evening, he is pursuing an MBA at John Carroll University. During his time at John Carroll, he majored in Computer Science and minored in Leadership, he was also a member of the stargazing club and the paranormal club.
Haley Kocisko '17 is teaching 8th grade math at Reading Middle School in Cincinnati, OH. She previously taught math and science in Boston, Massachusetts while she was completing her Masters of Education degree from Boston College. While at John Carroll, Haley was involved in many departments across campus such as Admissions, Campus Ministry, Center for Service and Social Action, and the Recreation Department.
Emily Mapes '15 is working as a Senior Financial Analyst at the Cleveland Clinic in the Corporate Financial Planning department. Her position entails working on enterprise-wide strategic financial plans, corporate budgeting, and providing analytic support to community hospitals. She recently completed her MBA at Cleveland State University while working. While at John Carroll, she was a member of the Cross Country and Track and Field teams, Beta Gamma Sigma (Business Honors Society), and studied Economics and Accounting.
Laura Matteo '18 is currently working as the Arts Administration Apprentice at in the Cleveland Play House Apprentice Class of 2020. In this position, she works toward her passion of telling important and compelling stories through theater. She is also an alum of the Disney College Program, where she worked in the World Showcase in Epcot. At JCU, Laura studied Theatre Arts Management, minored in Spanish and Leadership Development, and was also involved in Campus Ministry, the Honors Program, and the performing arts.
Mary Frances McGowan '17 is an Atlantic Media Fellow at the National Journal in Washington, DC, where she reports on the 2020 presidential election. Prior to joining National Journal, she was the Meet the Press Fellow in 2017 where she produced for the Sunday broadcast, and stayed with the company for an additional year as a researcher at NBC’s Washington Bureau. While at John Carroll, she doubled majored in communications and political science, was the Editor in Chief of The Carroll News, a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, President of the Communication Studies Honors Society, Lambda Pi Eta, President of the Society of Professional Journalists, and member of the Political Science Honors Society, Pi Sigma Alpha.
Julia Mezzoprete '18 is working as a capital analyst for the industrial engineering team at Wayfair in Boston. Her position entails working with industrial engineering, real estate, operational finance and accounting at Wayfair to forecast and budget capital spend for new warehouse facilities and retail centers. She is currently pursuing a Tableau certification to help her team analyze and visualize their data more efficiently. While at John Carroll, she was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Women in Finance and Economics Club, and the Finance Association, while majoring in Finance and minoring in Leadership Development.
Emily Mitchell ‘17 is currently a mental health therapist through Applewood Centers at Stonebrook Montessori and Jane Addams Business Career Center in Cleveland, OH. She received her Master of Science in Social Administration at Case Western Reserve University’s Mandel School in May 2019. Her passion for advocating for marginalized communities ignited during her time at JCU. While a student at JCU, she majored in Psychology with a minor in Leadership Development. She also founded the Stargazing Club and served as an RA.
Troy Murphy ‘14 is working as a Mid-Market Sales Director at Yelp in Washington, D.C. His position entails working with some large enterprise clients such as CAVA, Rent the Runway, and Bonobos. He helps them execute their digital marketing and online strategies. Aside from work, Troy plays in a kickball and volleyball league. While at John Carroll, he was a member of Club Volleyball, the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, and studied Communications.
Eleni Nikolakis ‘16 is working as a HR Representative at National Interstate Insurance in the Talent Development department. Her position entails learning and development, programming, community engagement and employer branding. She earned her DiSC certification to facilitate training about the behavior based model and is pursuing other training certifications. While at John Carroll, she was a member of SHRM, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and participated in service opportunities.
Katie O'Connell '19 recently moved to New York City to pursue a career in experiential marketing. In her senior year at John Carroll, she had the unique opportunity to write and publish a book, Live!, that reimagined the way we experience live events. She graduated from the Tim Russert Department of Communication with a focus in Integrated Marketing and participated in the Chicago Internship Program at NBC5 & Telemundo Chicago as an undergraduate. While at John Carroll, she was a campus tour guide, Seeds of Hope mentor, Immersion leader, and an active member in the Entrepreneurship program as the co-organizer of the inaugural Dare to Dream Retreat and member of the Women's Advisory Council.
Brandon Parr '16 is a fourth year medical student at Campbell University in North Carolina. He is currently applying for internal medicine residency programs and is within the interview process. Last October, he married his now wife he met at JCU, Lindsey Fano, in Raleigh, NC. While at JCU, Brandon served as President of the fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon, started a legacy project known as Shampoo for the Red, White, and Blue that still continues annually, and was involved in neuroscience research at the Cleveland Clinic that recently led to a publication.
Colleen Reilly '15 earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and is working as an Associate Attorney at Faulkner, Garmhausen, Keister & Shenk in Sidney, Ohio. Her areas of interest include labor and employment law, corporate and commercial law, and real estate and development. While at John Carroll, she was a member of the Honors Program, worked as a Tour Guide, was actively involved in Campus Ministry and the Immersion Program, and studied History and Classics. Nick Reis ‘19 is working as a Client Solutions Executive for the 3rd Party Logistics Firm, Echo Global Logistics. On a daily basis, his position entails developing, maintaining and managing new client relationships in the Logistics Industry. He also drives new account growth via prospecting and sourcing. Nick currently works at Echo’s branch location in Nashville, TN. While at John Carroll, Nick was a member of the Football Program and studied Business Management along with Leadership Development.
Julia Ruggiero ‘19 is working at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium as the Marketing Project Coordinator and recently published her first book, VulnerABLE: How to Notice the Power of Vulnerability Through Lettuce, Laundry, and Love with New Degree Press. VulnerABLE is a non-fiction book that speaks to people going through a time of transition; people looking to gain power over shame and doubt and notice the power in their voices. While at John Carroll, Julia spoke at various events about mental health awareness as well as the benefits of essential oils, helped plan the first Dare to Dream retreat, was involved in Her Campus, and lead Manresa 38 as the Media Specialist.
Rachel Sammon '15 is working as a Chemist II at the Sherwin-Williams Company in Global Supply Chain Research and Development. Her position entails working on a division-wide waste management system, leading quality investigations involving production issues, and providing support for new product development. While at John Carroll, Rachel was a circulation desk assistant at the Grasselli Library and Breen Learning Center, was a co-op with the Sherwin-Williams Company, and studied Biochemistry.
Ashley Scapillato '14 is working as an Academic Coach at Niagara University. Her position entails meeting with first-year student-athletes and educating them on college-level academic skills and learning strategies to promote academic success. She will finish her Master's in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University at Buffalo in May 2020. While at John Carroll, she was a Finance Tutor and worked in Residence Life, studied abroad in London, participated in an Immersion program to Nicaragua, and majored in Finance with minors in Economics and International Studies.
Steven Schmitz '17 is working as a management consultant at Guidehouse LLP (Formerly PwC Public Sector) in the Department of Defense (DoD) sector. His position involves supporting the United States Army with their most pressing matters. Some of these problems include Audit Readiness, Business Process Standardization, and Business Process Improvement. Steven p While at John Carroll, he was involved as a Senior Resident Assistant, member of the wrestling team, member of the jazz band, and studied Accounting.
Nicolle Simonovic ’16 is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Psychology at Kent State University. She teaches within the department and works as a graduate research assistant in the Social, Health, and Risk Perception Lab. While at John Carroll, Nicolle served as a student representative for the University Sustainability Committee, Counseling Center Advisory Committee, and the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council. She was also the president of Psychology Club and the Environmental Issues Group.
CLASS OF 2020 LEADERSHIP SCHOLARS
Chloe Backman is an Education major and Leadership Development minor from Broadview Heights, OH. Chloe is a member of Chi Omega, where she participates in events that help with their philanthropy - Make a Wish. She works as a babysitter outside of campus and is also scorekeeper for Intramural Sports. She is an oboist in JCU’s wind ensemble program as she has been playing the instrument for the past 12 years. For the past few summers, Chloe has worked as a camp supervisor in her hometown and helps to plan and create the camp activities.
Maria Borowy is an Integrated Marketing Communications major with a Leadership Development minor from Erie, PA. Maria is currently a Real World Russert intern through the Tim Russert Department of Communication here at Carroll. On campus, she is a sister of the Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity where she participates in events that help to support their philanthropy- CASA. Maria pursues her passions of service and leadership through activities like Danie’s Day, the JCU Labre Project, and has served as a SWAT leader. She also works as a babysitter outside of campus.
Jessica DiSalvatore is a senior majoring in English: Creative Writing with a minor in Communications from Ashtabula, OH. She is currently the President of English Club. She was also the Editor-in-Chief of the John Carroll Review in Fall 2018 and has also been published in recent copies of the Review, as well as other literary magazines. She also enjoys photography, church-going, and reading and writing about her faith.
Mae Eddir is a biochemistry/pre-med major with a minor in literature from Strongsville, OH. She is currently the Chief of JCU EMS and is a teaching assistant for the general chemistry and organic chemistry labs. She is a MELT mentor for the Center of Student Diversity and Inclusion and serves as a devoted volunteer for the acute rehabilitation floor at Southwest General Hospital.
Matthew C. Ferraro is a double major in Marketing and Supply Chain Management/ Business Logistics with a minor in Leadership Development from Elburn, IL. Matt participates on the JCU Wrestling team and has participated in many community service projects and organizations including the Special Olympics and Crayola for kids. Matt is an Eagle Scout, has served as a SWAT Leader, and is the president of the Boler College of Business Ambassadors.
Marissa George is a Cell and Molecular Biology major with a minor in Leadership Development from Medina, OH. She has held a variety of positions within Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, Order of Omega, and the Honor’s Program. Marissa also participates in a variety of service events on and off campus, including immersion trips, and loves working with the Office of Admissions on events for prospective students and as a Leadership Coach on campus. Marissa currently works in the Emergency Department at University Hospitals as a medical scribe. She hopes to attend osteopathic medical school after graduation to pursue a career in Native American healthcare.
Vincenzo Giovannitti is majoring in Spanish and Hispanic Studies and minoring in both Chemistry and Leadership Development from Pittsburgh, PA. He has served as a Resident Assistant and Tour Guide, studied abroad in Spain, and spent the summer volunteering at a clinic in Peru. Vinnie plans to go to dental school after graduation.
Michelle Glawitsch is a biochemistry major with a minor in Leadership Development from Madison, OH. She is a part of CRU, the Creative Arts Club, and the Little Theatre Society on campus.
Matthew Hallgarth is an International Business major with a minor in Spanish from Hudson, OH. He is currently a part of the Honors Program and Carroll Faith Communities, as well as a member of the Cross Country and Track teams.
Christian Hipsher is a Marketing and Supply Chain Management major from Galena, OH. He is a member of the JCU Wrestling team. After college, he plans on attending John Carroll University to complete the 5th year MBA program.
Karlie Kehoe is an Exercise Science major with a minor in Leadership Development from Keller, TX. She is the Social Events Chair of her sorority, Chi Omega, and a member of the Pre-Health Club. After finishing graduate school in Occupational Therapy, Karlie intends to enter the medical field as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist.
Kody Kidd is a Sports Studies major with a minor in Leadership Development from Richmond, KY. Kody is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, on the JCU Football team, and serves as a tour guide.
Tomi Korsa is an Exercise Science major and Leadership Development minor from Concord, OH. He played for the John Carroll Men’s Soccer Team for the last 2 years and is very involved in the Campus Ministry department. Tomi is a work study employee, participated in the 2019 Appalachia Immersion Trip, and has been a part of several Manresa retreats.
Mitchell Kotheimer is a Finance major with a concentration in wealth management as well as a Leadership Development minor from Chesterland, OH. He is a captain on the JCU Soccer team, president of the Investment Club, and studied abroad in London. Mitch serves on the Student Athlete Advisory Board as well as the Boler College of Business Student Advisory Board. This past summer, he interned at NCA Financial Planners and hopes to pursue a career in financial planning following graduation.
Olivia Krause is an Accountancy major and Leadership Development minor from Pittsburgh, PA. She is an active member of Kappa Delta and works at Grasselli Library as a Library Student Assistant at the Help Desk. This past spring Olivia completed an internship with Price Waterhouse Coopers and looks forward to starting her career there following graduation.
Noah Paulsen is a an International Business with Language and Culture major from Brecksville, OH. He’s an Executive Board member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity,president of the IBLC Association, and the Photography Editor/occasional writer for the Carroll News. Outside of Carroll, Noah works for the Lubrizol Corporation and as a freelance photographer/videographer.
Arika Quinones is a Biology major from Cleveland, OH who holds down a part-time job outside of the classroom. After graduation, Arika plans to enter the medical field.
Maureen (Mo) Reilly is a Classics major with a minor in Chemistry from Cincinnati, OH. On campus, Mo is a Tour Guide and serves as the coordinator for the Blue Streak Ambassador program, the President of the Club Rowing Team, part of the Honors Program, and is a peer mentor for first year students. In January, Mo will be a participant on the JCU Immersion to Chiapas, Mexico along with several other John Carroll students.
Olivia Shackleton is double majoring in Communications and Political Science from Parma, OH. JCU, Olivia has been involved in various different organizations, such as theater, WJCU, the Society of Professional Journalists, Carroll Faith Communities, and Blue Streak Ambassadors. Her favorite extra-curricular is The Carroll News, where she has served as a staff reporter, campus editor and editor-in-chief. Olivia is an aspiring political journalist.
Morgen Staggers is a Human Resources and Business Management major with a minor in Leadership Development from North Canton, OH. She is a Boler College of Business Ambassador and serves as a Senior Resident Assistant. Along with pursuing a career as an HR Specialist, Morgen plans on earning her MBA at JCU.
Elizabeth Watson is an English Literature major from Allison Park, PA. She is a student in the JCU Honors Program and has participated in five theatrical productions on the stages of JCU. Elizabeth served as the President of the Little Theatre Society and looks forward to leading the club again this year. After graduation, Elizabeth plans to pursue a Ph.D. in English Literature and to eventually become a professor.
Julie Whitmore is a Political Science major with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Cleveland, OH. She has been involved in the executive boards for Students for Social Justice club, Students Empowering Women, Take Back the Night, and is leading an immersion to the US/Mexico border and El Salvador in January. Julie looks forward to finishing her collegiate career and pursuing a profession in politics and social justice.

Brianna Boyko is a Psychology major and Exercise Science minor from Brecksville, OH. At JCU, Brianna participates in intramural volleyball and theater. When she is not volunteering or performing she spends her time working as a lifeguard during the summer. After college, Brianna hopes to continue her passion for helping others as an occupational therapist.
Delaney Burns is an Early Childhood Education major from Columbus, OH. Her love of children has led her to do service at elementary schools through the Center for Service and Social Action, where she serves on the student leadership team. Delaney is also the president of Dance Marathon at JCU and serves as a lector for mass.
Michael Butler is a Sociology and Criminology major from Valley City, OH. He works a part-time job for Coca Cola and plans on being a Cleveland Police Officer after graduating from JCU, following in the footsteps of his father.
Kaley Capron is a Psychology major with minors in Statistics and Leadership Development from Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Kaley currently works at Building Blocks Therapy, a center for children with autism. She also is a senator in the JCU Student Government and serves as a Resident Assistant. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to further her work and research regarding autism.
Isabella Carlozzi is a Biology major and Leadership Development minor from Chardon, OH. She is involved in Greek life, the Student Union Programming Board, and the Pre-Dental Club. Bella spent this past summer in Buffalo for a pediatric dental internship and plans to attend dental school after graduation.
Joe Clark is an English and Education major with a minor in Leadership Development from Strongsville, OH. On campus, Clark is involved with the Institutional Assessment Committee, serves as a lector and Eucharistic minister at mass, and is a Senior Resident Assistant. Joe’s future ambitions include teaching, becoming a public speaker, and also writing professionally and creatively.
Charlie Cook is an Accountancy major and Leadership Development minor from East Aurora, NY. Outside of the classroom, Charlie is a member of the Accounting Association and Investment Club. He intends to earn his MBA and CPA upon his graduation from JCU.
Kara Daggett is an Early Childhood Education major and with a minor in Spanish from Pittsburgh, PA. She is involved in Greek life and plans to get more involved in the various service opportunities that John Carroll has to offer.
Reade DeRosa is an Accounting major and Leadership Development minor from Pittsburgh, PA. Reade is a member of the Accounting Association and the Boler Business Leadership Society.
Sara Domino is a Psychology major and Exercise Science minor from Mentor, OH. She is involved in Club Volleyball, Cru, and volunteers on and off campus with events like Through the Eyes of a Child and weekly service. During the school year Sara also holds a job working with kids with autism as well as weekly babysitting. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to study Speech and Language Pathology.
Megan Dugan is an Accountancy major from Erie, PA. On campus, she in involved in Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, completes service through RallyCap sports, and the Student Alumni Association. Megan enjoyed studying in Dublin, Ireland and also recently completed her first internship as a state and local tax intern for Danaher Corporation
Connor Fenton is a Supply Chain Management major with a minor in Leadership and Finance from Gibsonia, PA. Connor plans to use his education to give back to his city of Pittsburgh by managing the supply chain network for UPMC or Allegheny Health Network.
Adam Haas is a Management major from Chagrin Falls, OH. Adam is on the JCU Soccer team and is also involved in the Investment Club and Inspired Business Initiative Student Advisory Board. Adam has been a Project Management intern for Sensical Inc. in Solon Ohio from May 2016-Present.
Ayoub Harb is a Cell and Molecular Biology major with minors in Chemistry and Leadership Development from Parma, OH. Ayoub serves as the President of the Middle Eastern Student Association, the Treasurer of the Pre-Medicine Society, and serves on the Academic Affairs Committee in Student Government. Ayoub was also an Orientation Leader and conducts research in the Biology Department. Following graduation, Ayoub plans to attend medical school to become a neurologist.
Elizabeth Hughes is double majoring in Marketing and Supply Chain Management with minors in Leadership Development and Italian Studies from Orchard Park, NY. She has been involved with Alpha Kappa Psi, intramurals, club basketball, as while as spending a semester studying abroad in Rome, Italy.
Jared Ianiro is a Business Management and Human Resources major and Leadership Development minor from Kirtland, OH. He is on the JCU Soccer team and studied abroad in spring of 2019 in London. After graduation, Jared plans to pursue a career in human resources.
Morgan Jochum is an Integrated Marketing Communications major, with Leadership Development and Entrepreneurship minors from Mayfield Village, OH. She serves as the Chi Omega Personnel Chair, founded Blue Streaks on the Run, and is the Communication Department Marketing and Branding intern for the 2019-2020 school year.
Alexa Lowe is Biology major from Pittsburgh, PA. She plans on joining JCU EMS and is the Vice President of the JCU Dance Ensemble. After her time at John Carroll, Alexa plans to attend Physician’s Assistant school in hopes of working in pediatric oncology.
Morgan Lupica is an Accountancy major with a minor in Leadership Development from Cleveland, OH. She is a member of the Accounting Association and serves as a Business Statistics peer tutor. Morgan has been figure skating since she was young and now shares her love of skating by teaching lessons for younger children.
Haylee Mathews is from Cortland, OH. She is a Human Resources and Management major with a double minor in Leadership Development and Population and Public Health. She is an active member of both Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity. Haylee also regularly volunteers through KAO’s philanthropy events and Through the Eyes of a Child. She hopes to one day become a Healthcare Administrator, where she can use her leadership and business skills to the fullest.
Chase Mieras is a Computer Science major with minors in Data Science, History, and Japanese from Elyria, OH. He is the Philanthropy and Service Chairperson of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and is an officer of the JCU Gaming Club. Chase plans to continue his internship with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland during the fall.
Gabriella Morton is a Political Science major along with minors in Statistics & Analytics and Leadership Development from Pittsburgh, PA. She is a Blue Streak Ambassador, a member of the Student Union Hearing Board, President of the Italian Club, and has served as a SWAT leader. After graduation, Gabriella plans to attend graduate school to pursue a master’s degree in data analysis.
John Moynihan is a Biology major and Leadership Development minor from Cleveland, OH. John is the President of the JCU Club Volleyball team, treasurer of the Health Awareness Project, and member of the Labre program. John is also a lead dancer with the Lucina Slovak ethnic dance ensemble and member of many fraternal organizations. John plans on attending medical school after graduation with the intentions of becoming a family pediatrician.
Mary Nofsinger is a Biology major with minors in both Spanish and Chemistry from Pittsburgh, PA. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, an employee for Intramural Sports, and a member of the Early Acceptance Program at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM).
Evan Norris is a Finance major with minors in Entrepreneurship and Leadership Development from Canton, OH. Evan is on the JCU Golf team, a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, participates in the Labre Project, and recently studied abroad in London.
Joey Parker is a Marketing and Supply Chain Management major with minors in Entrepreneurship and Leadership Development from Mayville, NY. He was an Orientation Leader, a member of Student Union Programming Board, loves intramural football and soccer, and enjoys traveling. Joey is also an active member in Alpha Kappa Psi, John Carroll’s business fraternity.
Rushil Rana is a Finance major with a minor in Leadership Development from Tiffin, OH. He is a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and is interning as a property manager at The Coral Company in Cleveland, OH. Additionally, Rushil serves as a marketing director for Color Me Mine.
Alexander Reyes is an Economics major and a Leadership Development minor from Maumee, OH. On campus, Alex is a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, an officer for the Interfraternity Council, is a member of the Honors Program, and is studying abroad in Rome. After graduation, Alex plans to attend dental school, specializing in prosthodontics.
Landon Rhoads is a Communications major and Leadership Development minor from Yellow Springs, OH. He has called the broadcasts of the JCU hockey team as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster, plays intramural soccer, and is very interested in producing documentaries and music. After graduation, Landon hopes to land a job in sports broadcasting or sports analytics.
Isabelle Rizzo is an Accounting major with minors in Catholic Studies and Leadership Development from Cuyahoga Falls, OH. She is an officer for the Sweet Carrollines a capella group and has attended the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. to put her faith into action. In the summer of 2020, she will be a tax intern for PwC in Cleveland.
AJ Rowe is a Communications and English double major from Detroit, MI. He is currently the president of John Carroll Television (JCTV) and plans to use his JCU degree to start a career in film production, directing, or writing.
Maria Sagi is a Management and Human Resources major from Cleveland, OH. Maria ran on the JCU Cross Country team, works for the JCU Call Center, and has tutored middle school students. After graduating, Maria hopes to get her MBA and work as an HR specialist.
Rachael Sanford is a Biology major with a Leadership Development Minor from Erie, PA. On campus, she is a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and the Pre-Medicine organization. Off campus, she volunteers weekly at the HIV clinic as an HIV Intervention Specialist and conducts medical research. After graduation, Rachael plans to attend med school, specializing in orthopedic surgery.
Hope Scherger is a Biochemistry major from Round Rock, TX. At JCU, Hope is a member of the honors program, serves as an honors mentor, and is a member of the JCU Swim team. Hope was also an orientation leader and is an officer of Kappa Gamma.
Gabrielle Sergi is a Communication Major with a track in Integrated Marketing with a Leadership Development minor from Erie, PA. Gabi is passionate about environmental health and is the Public Relations Co-Chair of the Environmental Issues Group. She also participated in the Immersion program to the US-Mexico Border and the Bolder Hope for Honduran Children mission.
Tori Vale is an Exercise Science major and a Psychology minor from Denver, CO. She is a member of the John Carroll Swim team. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to pursue becoming an occupational therapist.
Alliha Valentine is a double major in Psychology and Italian Studies with a minor in Leadership Development from Pittsburgh, PA. She is studying abroad in Rome and also works part-time in cosmetic sales. After graduation, Alliha plans to attend graduate school to become a counseling psychologist.

Machayla Adams is a double major in Political Science and Spanish from Willoughby, OH. She is on the SUPB executive board at JCU, where she helps to organize some of the events held on campus during the weekends.
Nour Altabbaa is a Biology major from Westlake, OH. She is a member of Muslim Student Society, Pre- Dental Society, Women in Stem, and Alpha Sigma Nu. Outside of school, Nour performs biological research, volunteers as a dental aid once a week, and taught taught Arabic at Al-Omary Saturday School. After graduation, she plans on attending dental school.
Katherine Arnold is a Finance major with a Leadership Development minor from Columbus, OH. She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and is a student ambassador for Love Your Melon. Outside of school, Katherine enjoys volunteering for a service organization called Miracle League.

Zachary Braun is a Finance major from Orchard Park, NY. He is a member of the JCU Lacrosse team and volunteers for the local KIA March honoring the fallen veterans of Western New York. After graduating he plans on either following in his father’s footsteps by joining the United States Secret Service or going into the field of finance.
Cassandra Calamunci is a Marketing major from Sylvania, OH. She is on the JCU Volleyball team where she serves as one of the team’s captains. This year she plans to get involved with more community service projects.

Brady Fields is a Marketing and Supply Chain Management major and Entrepreneurship minor from Lake Geneva, WI. Brady is on the JCU Baseball team, a tour guide, an officer in the Boler Business Leadership Society, and is also a member of the American Marketing Association, the Graduate at Graduation Series, and Carroll Faith Communities. Brady spent his summer in Chicago, IL while he was a legal intern for the law firm Tully & Associates.

Bobby Goff is an English major from Lyndhurst, OH. He is involved in the Intramural Department at JCU as a referee and a player. Bobby also volunteers as a teacher for a 5th and 6thgrade Vacation Bible School class at his parish, St. Clare and hopes to work as either a contract lawyer or a high school English teacher after graduating from JCU.
Savannah Grandovic is an English Literature major with a minor in Chemistry on a pre-medical track from Pittsburgh, PA. As a freshman at JCU, Savannah started her own student organization Savvy Headbands whose mission is to partner with local hospitals and donate hand-knit headbands to women, men, and children with cancer. Savannah is also an officer in the Pre-medicine Society and is a member of the Pre-health Club and American Chemical Society, in addition to serving as a teaching assistant for the general chemistry lab. After graduation, she plans to attend med school to become a forensic pathologist.
Reilly Haas is a Sports Administration major with minors in Business and Leadership Development from Cincinnati, OH. She is a member of the JCU Club Rowing Team, participates in the Carroll Faith Community, and is a CSSA Student Liaison. After college, Reilly hopes to work for a professional or collegiate sports team.
Jared Hinton is a Biology major with minors in both Business and Leadership Development from North Ridgeville, OH. He is establishing a Pre-Physician Assistant Club on campus, and is also involved with JCU EMS, RallyCap, and intramural sports.

Kaeleigh Kirkwood is a Philosophy major on a health, science, and ethics track, with a double minor in Leadership Development and Population and Public Health from Buffalo, NY. After graduation, Kaeleigh plans to attend law school to have an impact on U.S. health policy.
Jasmine McCallum is a Psychology major with minors in Leadership Development and Statistics from Webster, NY. She is an active member of the Psychology club and JCU cru. Jasmine is participating in an internship at the ADHD Center of the Cleveland Clinic, has served as an Orientation Leader, and works at JCU Mail Center. Following graduation, Jasmine plans on getting a PhD in Clinical Psychology, focusing on children and adolescents.
Jasmine Milton is a Psychology major and Leadership Development minor from Garfield Heights, OH. She is a member of John Carroll’s Black Students in Action as well as a member of the MELT (Match Empower Learn and Teach) program. Jasmine works at the local YMCA and a local Rec. Center as a lifeguard and swim instructor, and volunteers at the Cleveland Foodbank, the Ronald McDonald House, and at local churches.
Benjamin Nist is pursuing a double major in Accountancy and Finance with a minor in Leadership Development from North Canton, OH. He is a member of the Student Workforce, participates in intramural sports, is a Boler Ambassador, and a member of the Boler School of Leadership and Social Innovation Student Advisory Board. Ben also volunteers for Labre and serves as a Eucharistic Minister at mass.

Joe Backus is a Computer Science major and Leadership Development minor from Olmsted Falls, OH. In high school, He was a part of the cross country and track and field team, robotics club, and was the vice president of Key Club and NHS. Outside of school, Joe was an Eagle Scout and did many service activities for many organizations. He is on the JCU Cross Country and Track and Field teams and looks forward to volunteering at John Carroll University.
Gracie Bressoud is an Exercise Science major and Leadership Development minor from Columbus, Ohio. In high school she was a captain of the softball team, president of the “She’s the First” Club and secretary of the Concert Choir. Gracie also participated in various service opportunities such as volunteering at Riverside Methodist Hospital, co-leading a team for a food drive, participating in Habitat for Humanity and helping with Miracle League. She is on the JCU Softball team and hopes to get involved with service here in Cleveland as well.
Will Bronsil is a Marketing major and Leadership Development minor from Cincinnati, OH. In high school, he was captain of the Varsity soccer team, team leader of a Big Buddies service group for two years, and a homeroom influence for sophomores his senior year. This past summer Will worked at Point To Point marketing helping with data analysis and putting together sales packages, while also running private soccer coaching lessons. He is on the JCU Soccer team and hopes to get involved in service work as well as study abroad in London during his sophomore year.
Drezdan Dale is a Business major and Leadership Development minor from Peru, IL. In high school, he played football and ran track while being named an Illinois State Scholar. Drezdan was also involved in Link Crew and was the varsity basketball statistician his senior year. The past two summers, he has volunteered for the local Challenger Baseball league. Drezdan hopes to continue working with children with disabilities in college while also working for the JCU Sports Information Department.
Miranda Day is an Early Childhood Education major and Leadership Development minor from Pittsburgh, PA. She loves teaching children and has led various Vacation Bible School church groups, taught classes to a preschool, and nannied for several families. Miranda loves music and enjoys playing several instruments. She hopes to be a preschool teacher or school psychologist after graduation.
Mary Evankovich is an Early Education Major and Leadership Development minor from Pittsburgh, PA. In high school, she played varsity basketball and was the Host Family Relations Captain for TigerThon. In addition, Mary was a club officer of S.A.D.D. and was an active member of Honors Choir. She hopes to dive into campus ministry and various clubs at JCU.

In high school, he was a part of the Lacrosse and football teams, and was the captain of the lacrosse team his junior and senior years. Rachel Halapchuk is a Physics major with a Leadership Development minor from Cheswick, PA. In high school, she was a member of the swim team and participated in Student Council, National Honor Society, Marching Band, and The Future Is Mine. Rachel enjoys doing community service and has received multiple awards for her volunteer work. Rachel is on the JCU Swimming team and plans to continue her volunteer work in college.
Sarah Hanlon is an Exercise Science and Biology major with a Leadership Development minor from Orchard Park, NY. In high school, she was a member of the Varsity Tennis and Varsity Track teams. Sarah was also a member of a local gymnastics team, competing throughout the year. During the summer, she taught Tennis for the Orchard Park Recreation Department. During the school year, Sarah served as a Religious Instruction Teacher, helped lead Vacation Bible School, and was part of the Edge Youth Group Leadership Team for her home parish. She hopes to study abroad in Ireland and plans to attend graduate school in Occupational Therapy.
Jack Kartsonas is an undecided major with a Leadership Development minor from Pittsburgh, PA. In high school he played baseball and basketball, and is on the JCU Baseball team. Each summer Jack volunteers at his church, and at a local country club where he helps to run tennis clinics for kids. At John Carroll he hopes to be involved in campus ministry.
Alara Koprulu is a Communications major with a Leadership Development minor from Rocky River, OH. Throughout high school, she was involved in marching band and wind ensemble for all four years, as well as being a freshman mentor during her last two years. Alara loves to travel and meet new people and is hoping to study abroad her sophomore year.
Emma Kosicek is a Communication major with minors in Political Science and Leadership Development from Ashtabula, OH. In high school she participated in many various activities such as varsity volleyball, Model United Nations, Key Club, Campus Ministry and served as president of her school’s chapters of the Ashtabula Foundation Philanthropy Board, National Honor Society, as well as her senior class.
Megan Lane is a Business major with a Leadership Development minor from Cleveland, OH. In high school she was a part of the Ambassador Program where she was given the opportunity to volunteer at various locations around Cleveland. Megan participated in a service trip through her high school to New Orleans, LA., where they volunteered at Love and Action food bank.
Nora McKee is a Communications major with a focus on digital media with minors in Creative Writing and Leadership Development. She is from Gibsonia, PA where she participated as a leader in the marching band, the musical, and mini-THON, a fundraiser for childhood cancer research. Outside of school Nora joined a recreational soccer team, participated in youth group, and worked a part time job at a local ice cream shop.
Colin Melligan is a Business major with a Leadership Development minor from Lancaster, NY. Throughout high school he participated in multiple Campus Ministry retreats, Walkathon Committee, Ski Club, School Tour Guide, and played hockey and varsity lacrosse. Outside of school, Colin was a counsel member of the Lancaster Youth Court and held a part-time job. He spent many summers volunteering with Touching Bases, a league organization that helped mentally and physically challenged adults play baseball. Colin was a volunteer for Journey’s End Refugee Service summer day camp and spent time with children from foreign countries and helped them adapt to their new lives in America. In college, Colin plans on earning his MBA and eventually pursue a law degree.

In high school, Adam was in the National Honor Society along with being a three-year member of the varsity baseball team. Adam is planning on participating in Campus Ministry, intramurals, and participating in the immersion and study abroad programs.
Caylin Perryman is a Criminology and Psychology major with a Leadership Development minor from Honeoye Falls, NY. In high school, Caylin was a member of National Honors Society, French Honors Society, Interact Club, Cougar Big Brother/Sister Program, and Drama Club. She participated in service regularly, ranging from hanging holiday lights around her hometown to serving at the annual “Breakfast with Santa”, and coaching a girl’s youth lacrosse team. Caylin is on the JCU Lacrosse team and looks forward to getting involved with clubs and service.
Hannah Pollack is a psychology major with a Leadership Development minor from North East, PA. In high school, she was involved in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field for three years and participated in clubs including Campus Ministry, Interact, National Art Honor Society, Green Team, and Student Council. Hannah plans to join campus ministry and participate in service opportunities at JCU.
Sam Rodgers is an Exercise Science major with a Leadership Development minor from Monclova, OH. In high school, he was involved in Christian Service, National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society, Easter on Campus, Christmas on Campus, and was a member of the varsity lacrosse team where he served as a captain for three years. Sam is on the JCU Lacrosse team and he plans to attend either medical school or PA school after graduation.
Brenden Swann is a Business major with a minor in Leadership from North Royalton, OH. In high school, Brenden was a 2 year captain for the St. Edward Soccer program and won an OHSAA D1 Football State Championship. He also served as a member of the Saint Edward Diversity Program as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Brenden plays on the JCU Varsity soccer team.
Brooke Talbot is a Business major with a Leadership Development minor from Erie, PA. While in high school, she loved performing on stage in musicals and coxswaining for her school’s rowing team. Brooke was a member of the National Honors Society, the International Thespian Society, and Student Council. At John Carroll, she is looking forward to service opportunities and trying new things.
Tommy Wetzel is a Finance major with a Leadership Development minor from Willoughby, Ohio. While in high school, Tommy played football, basketball, and ran track. He enjoys to play basketball and golf and hopes to be a financial advisor after graduation.
Elice Wisner is an Exercise Science major with a Leadership Development minor from Brecksville, OH. In high school, she was a gymnast and pole vaulter while also down a part-time job. Elice looks forward to continuing her volunteer work in college and joining several clubs.
Katy Zoller is an Undecided major with a Leadership Development minor from Fairview Park, OH. During high school, she co-founded a Students Demand Action (SDA) Chapter where she held meetings for students to learn about gun violence in America, write letters to their representatives, and register to vote. At JCU, Katy hopes to create another SDA Chapter to continue fighting the epidemic of gun violence. After graduation, she hopes to be a bilingual activist who works with nonprofit organizations.
