In addition to his background in higher education leadership, Dr. Granot served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) prior to beginning his international business career in 1994 as a sales manager for a US based freight forwarding company. He later established his marketing and strategy consulting practice. In 1998, he was recruited to be vice president of marketing for Israel’s largest private education company, later acquired by the Washington Post group. In 2000, Dr. Granot was named CMO of KPMG in Tel Aviv, a position he held until taking over as CEO of a large media production company.

Dr. Granot is an advisor to a $450 Million Venture Capital fund, and is the founder and managing member of a boutique venture capital fund dedicated to early-stage technology. He serves on the board of OhioX and previously served on the boards of the Cleveland Jewish News, Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County, the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce, the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education, Engage! Cleveland, Blockland Cleveland, and LaunchHouse. He also served as the chair of AACSB’s new deans affinity group.

Dr. Granot earned his Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; a Master of Science in Management and Marketing from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Tel Aviv University.
