Connect | Grow | Serve

The John Carroll University Alumni Association Corporate Chapter initiative aims to create opportunities for alumni to connect, grow, and serve together in the workplace.

Connect: Corporate Chapters offer alumni working for the same organization the opportunity to come together for social events and foster relationships that will benefit them personally and professionally.

Grow: Corporate Chapters provide alumni with professional development opportunities through in-office speakers and seminars.

Serve: Corporate Chapters bring alumni together to give back – to their organization, their community, and the University.

Starting a Corporate Chapter:

  • 10 or more alumni working for the same organization
  • Corporate Chair (alumnus/a who is willing to act as the intermediary between the Office of Alumni Relations/Alumni Association Board and the relevant leadership at the organization)

Possible Corporate Chapter Initiatives and Opportunities:

  • Increased employee engagement and leadership opportunities
  • Awareness of fellow JCU alumni working at the same company
  • On-site coffee socials with JCU alumni and staff to start the work day
  • “Lunch and Learn” with JCU professors and academic experts
  • Happy Hours and networking events
  • Campus partnership opportunities

It is thanks to these associations that the company is able to continue being a leading paint and coatings company for over 150 years. The John Carroll University Alumni Association is proud to list Sherwin-Williams as its first Corporate Chapter. Members of the JCU community will aim to make two site visits per year to connect with alumni employed at Sherwin-Williams, foster relationships within the organization and among our alumni. Special guests from campus may present over breakfast or during the lunch hour with the assistance of the terrific Community Engagement staff at Sherwin-Williams.
